I've decided to finally take the plunge an upgrade my ECU to a JWT unit. In doing some research on tt.net and with Coz, I've determined the following: 1. My VIN is a CALI # as originally supplied from Nissan
2. My Z was bastardized by the previous owner(s) who replaced the engine and ECU (but runs great!)
3. ECU currently in the car is p/n: A18-B54-MJ4
4. JWT website ECU ID list shows this as a FEDERAL ECU
5. Conclusion: The car was altered into a FED configuration
6. I should get a FED JWT ECU to match what's in the car, not what the VIN/emissions stickers indicate, so I don't throw a missing EGR code
7. I live in CT now, so I don't care about CA effectivity Anything I'm missing?? Thanks!
